Accessibility Statement
Urban Dunes was founded by NYC parents for every NYC family, including families with disabilities. We want everyone to be able to learn about us, book a visit and get in touch, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
The short version
- We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
- An accessibility menu is available on every page: look for the accessibility icon on the screen.
- Some parts of our website, like the booking pages, are run by other companies and may not be fully accessible yet.
- If anything is hard to use, tell us and we’ll help you and work to fix it.
1. Our commitment
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines make websites easier to use for people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have motor, cognitive or other disabilities. Based on our own review, this website partially conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility is ongoing work for us. We review the website as we add new pages and features, and we fix issues as we find them.
3. Our accessibility work
We’re working to:
- use clear headings, so pages make sense with a screen reader;
- make every page usable with a keyboard and on phones, tablets and desktops;
- add text descriptions to meaningful images;
- label form fields clearly and avoid flashing content;
- keep our language simple and friendly.
4. Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts of the website may not be fully accessible yet:
- Booking, payment and waiver pages are run by ROLLER, a third-party service we don’t control.
- Videos on our website are hosted on YouTube, and some may not have captions yet.
- Some images don’t have text descriptions yet, and some headings and text don’t yet meet WCAG color-contrast requirements. We’re working through these.
If you can’t complete a booking or find the information you need, contact us and we’ll take care of it for you by email or phone.
5. Visiting us in person
If you or your child have accessibility needs for your visit, party, class or camp, please contact us before you come. We’ll tell you what to expect at the venue and do our best to plan your visit together.
6. Feedback and contact
We welcome your feedback. If you run into an accessibility barrier on our website, or have a suggestion, please let us know. It helps to include the page address and a short description of the problem.
